This was originally in my last post titled Emma Watson: pretentious as usual and deceiving about Brown as Del Toro .... Check that out for the post and to read all the comments. I added a few new things to it. That post is a bit long to begin with. I am making this it's own post because her comments on this is being played real well in the media as a woe is me poor Emma moment. Like seriously #factcheckingtakesfiveminutes.
From celebrities.ninemsn.comAugust 2012, “Emma Watson is buckling under the weight of a first world problem— she’s too popular for her own good. The actress revealed her woes in an interview with T, The New York Times’ style lift-out, which also features a blown-up face shot of Emma on the cover. "If I went somewhere busy, I wouldn’t last very long. I can’t go to a museum, I’ll last 10 or 15 minutes in a museum," she sobbed. "The problem is that when one person asks for a photograph, then someone sees a flash go off, then everyone else sort of …it’s sort of like a domino effect. "And then very quickly the situation starts to get out of control to a point where I can’t manage it on my own," said the 22-year-old. The thing is, Emma, when you’ve appeared in seven Harry Potter films and a bunch of other successful flicks, regularly lend your face to magazine covers and advertisements and try to become a famous actress, chances are you’ll probably become, err, a famous actress!" AWESOME because I've said this for far too long
Few comments from this website
While I do like Emma I think she is exaggerating a bit about how much media attention she gets. Yes, she is fairly famous but in retrospect to other celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton etc she is hardly photographed. Emma is making it seem like she's the most photographed celebrity when I actually think she keeps her personal life out of the tabloids pretty well considering her level of success. She is not to famous to go out in public. Michael Jackson was too famous to go out in public and Princess Diana was. They couldn't walk a step in public without paps and fans mobbing them. Emma doesn't get that.
Get over Yourself lovey... You made your bed so lie in it !!! You sound like a 10 year old winging about their play lunch that everyone wants !!
It's difficult because on one side you feel sorry for them but then you think about how much money she has at such a young age. If she quit acting tomorrow she would still have a wonderful life with all of the finest things...and she is only an actor. Just this week we have seen someone like Julian Assange who has put his life on the line for something he truly believes will advance the human race, and what does he get for it? Not fame, not money, but the threat of extradition to the US for espionage; a trial; definitely jail time and can be put to death! There are people in Hollywood who have committed far greater crimes than Assange and get paid millions of dollars to do it. I just struggle to feel too sorry for these people. Her lavish lifestyle should more than compensate for her loss of public anonymity, that’s the trade off right?....Just saying...you know?
The tragedy of being beautiful and filthy rich. sigh.
Echee says: Well there are people in Africa that are not able to feed their stomachs. This is from precursor of the museum talk in the actual interview that lead to the above quote. From NYT t-magazine interview August 2012, "I was also touched by Watson’s tales of coming to realize the horrific extent of her face recognition as a child star. She told me that up until she was 15 or 16 she still took the bus from Oxford to London, determined to be just an ordinary girl — this was her strange form of rebellion — but that it became too much when everyone on the bus was either talking about or at her." Then it goes straight into that comment about museums. It was her rebellion? She said she never felt the need to rebel. You are wrong, sir! From ctv.ca November 2010, "I do things in my own way, but I've never felt any need to rebel. To be honest I had to much freedom." See I told you. Don't write things you know nothing about. From wwd.com Nov 2010, Fashion was my rebellion.” Aww shit I am confused again. Sorry sir for my sanctimonious scolding. But I must continue. The show must go on! <-- Look exclamation points. Inside joke from the comment section.
Can't ride the bus, eh? At 15 or 16 you had a rough experience, eh? Well maybe or maybe not (click link below). I honestly can't tell you or even come to a conclusion to the real truth if it's now or then. She has too many conflicting stories. Why now? The point being? I hate to post these two quotes again but it goes with her new story. From splashnewsonline.com Dec 2010 "The 20-year-old Harry Potter actress told British newspaper Metro: "The funny thing is people look at me and go: ‘Is that the girl from Harry Potter?’ And then they shake their heads and say: ‘No, it can’t be, she’s on public transport.’ And I’m sat there secretly thinking: ‘Ha Ha that’s funny. The last quote was after Burberry and at the end of Potter. This was reworded quote from two years earlier. Why she repeats it I don't know. From makeushot.commakeushot.com Dec 2008, "I have a more normal life than people expect. When I take public transport, people are like, ‘That girl looks like the girl from ‘Harry Potter,’ but it can’t be her on the train’. I get stopped by people, but that’s fine." Here is what she said last year about fame. She seemed pretty cool with it. So what the fuck is she whining about? From iheartwatson.net Nov 2011, "So many people must wish they were in his position and think that he has the best life, but actually… there are prices you pay. Don’t interpret that from my perspective; it’s not so bad for me. I’m not in Rob’s (Pattison) position, I don’t have people screaming and crying and clawing at me. I’m so grateful for that.” Above she says, "I went somewhere busy, I wouldn’t last very long. I can’t go to a museum, I’ll last 10 or 15 minutes in a museum." I am having that confused moment again. Wait, maybe it's her not me? I think she was hit with the obliviate curse. You can read more of her quotes on fame below (of which she flips and flop on this subject) in links I provide from past posts of mine. Last year she said this. From fashion.telegraph.co.uk Jan 2012 "Someone asked me why I accepted this job, as I wanted to stand in the shadows. Actually, I gave up the idea that I could become anonymous again!" So what is she bitching about if she gave up the idea of being anonymous? She understand she never can if she continues being a famous actress.
Why do celebrities feel the need to whine about their lives when what they have is so much more than the rest of us no matter if you are working a blue collar job struggling or trying to survive in some mud hut. She works 15 weeks a year on a movie, banks millions and the rest is her leisure time while the rest of us are stuck with the daily grind of 365 days a year. That's not including the bank she makes from the likes of Burberry and Lancome. Get your head out of your ass Herwhinie Granger. Must I explain this any further. Sure there are annoyances I take it. I'm not even famous but I can comprehend certain moments in my head that would bother me. But from where I am sitting, even though I would never want to be famous, the pluses out weigh the minuses. Those moments that would bother me would make me realize how fucking rich and easy my life truly is. I'd say, "Well it sucks sometimes when I just want to eat a burger at my favorite restaurant but I got it made so I'll send one of my slaves out for the burger before I go on my tenth exotic vacation this year." I'm not going to go to magazines whining about it. Hmm millions of dollars boo hoo or unemployment line yay? I don't think those people looking for a job are going to feel sorry for me. That's how I see it. No one wants to hear this kind of stuff. What does this have to do with your up coming movies or projects? I thought she was a private person anyway? Isn't this private information? Is there anyone in Emma's camp that can sit her down and explain to her the reality of her situation, please? Or is she that dense or difficult? You know how she at least has a choice about her life when others are stuck in theres. Take the "slums of Bangledesh" for instance.
Emma is the one that made her name much bigger with attaching herself to international brands such as Burrberry and Lancome. Not everyone is a Potter fan. She expanded her fan base outside of acting. Not everyone watches movies. Wants anonymity and normacly and then signs huge modeling contracts. What the fuck is up with that? Then we have the countless magazines she's done over the years that spread out all over the world promoting herself more than the films. College was supposed to take care of this but she chose more fame, money and attention. That's why she left Brown and Worcester. Now she lives in America and is trying to become a big name there. Oh my, lol. What a maroon. No one is forcing her to stay in the spotlight. She has the money to walk away from it all to live a normal life. In time she will be forgotten like so many other young stars that never hit it big after their initial success. I've never heard anyone with as much as she has find something to whine about. She's old enough to make big girl decisions. Either quit yer bitching and deal with your choice you made or get the hell out of the business and take your little wand to.
Check this out lettersofnote.com. This letter should be re-written and sent to Emma Watson. Because like this letter points out Emma too wanted to be an actress at a young age. What are her interviews going to be like 5 years from now. I can only imagine. This is either her craving for an out pouring of sympathy like the attention whore she is or sometime in the near future she will have a Britney Spears breakdown.

From thesun.co.uk (comments to their article on her whining about fame)
Emma Watson - People like you really make me sick. do you really think you are? You were a little actress in a film and now you think the world revolves around your feet..... REALITY CHECK - You're not all that. You decided to go into acting. I don't suppose for one minute you were dragged kicking and screaming. I suggest now HP is over, you go and get a life.
If Prince William managed it, you can luv !!!
At what point am I suppose to shed a tear and say "oh poor you". If you don't want the fame/attention (not to mention the millions), then get out of the biz. I cannot stand when celebrities start to whine about how they can't go anywhere etc because they are so famous/popular. Guess what? That's the price you pay for being an entertainer - it goes with the job I'm sorry to say so just stop the complaining and suck it up OR get out of the business.
the girl needs a reality check when you take the money for what you do, you have to expect the public will want a piece of you im sure with $70 million you can live with it im sure
She has the personality of a lampost, been pampered to much at a young age, be thankful for what you have.
Tell you what , Emma, give me half your money. It might make things much better for both of us.
God!!! actors, sport stars, models etc are a weird bunch. They do everything bar murder to become rich and famous and when they do they bitch about it.With regard to this stuck up little madam my all time fav Harry Potter movie line was when Snape called her "an insufferable little know it all"With regard to fame if your happy enough to take the money and the lavish lifestyle then take the baggage that comes with it.If you don't like the rules of the game don't step onto the bloody field
I don't think i'd spot her in public in a million years, apart from being in harry potter which i have never seen what else has she done or is she only mobbed by children?
Is it really that everytime she opens her mouth she says something annoying, or is it just that the annoying things are the only ones that hit the news. Either way, if she stopped saying stupid things, they'd stop appearing!
I'm amazed she can manage to squeeze that big head of hers through the front door to go out in the first place!! Get over yourself luv, personally I could be standing next to her and wouldn't notice!! What a pretentious little girl!!!
she always seems to come across as a toffy nosed cow there are more famous people than her who have lives and go out in public
She complains about being famous , really ? How can being rich , famous , anything at the snap of your fingers be a burden ?
Oh.dear!!.she.wanted.to.be.famous.and.now.she.is.

This makes sense in terms of Emmione. (Actor: Hermione, character: emma watson) http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/394410_488441477850600_151212237_n.jpg
hehehe... this post made me laugh
I think this is one of my favorite posts. I really loved reading the comments on the article! (By the way, did you make that Marie Claire meme? Her face-!)
Maybe this is how she gets attention. "come see my movies please". Whine Whine Whine. "If you can't see me in a museum, you can see me in my movies". Whine Whine Whine.
On a side note: WTH happened to Sofia Coppola? I mean I never saw her as this overly talented director, her storytelling is bland, she has good directing technique, but her movies have started to suck.
I don't understand why people are pitying her.
Yes, she started as Hermione at age 10, but even she said herself that she "really wanted the part" (though I also believe she said the opposite?). And if she understood her parent's financial woes at age 6 or so, then she obviously knew what she was signing on board for.
Also, she had a chance to quit after the third movie, but stayed on for a pay raise and probably because if she had quit then, people wouldn't follow her anymore and I think she's always enjoyed the perks of celebrity, even from a young age. If a child wanted to become a famous actress, as she's said (but also said she didn't), from a young age, imagine how wonderful it must have been to simply be lauded as the girl who played Hermione, was pretty, etc. I'm sure she's eaten that stuff up, though I also don't think she like having to be Hermione anymore on screen, hence why Emmione started.
Lastly, if she wanted people to leave her alone and if she wanted complete anonymity, there are ways to achieve that. For example, actually become a normal college student at Brown and don't take any parts or gigs like Lancome. Or go back home or to another country and don't accept offers. She's familiar with France - they have strict paparazzi photographing there, so just go there.
People who use the defense "she started at age 10" are ridiculous. She's had chances to quit AND she continued a Hollywood career post-Potter. That's key. She continued after Harry Potter. And she even whined about fame then, too. She continues to put herself in Hollywood. She's the only one who can change that, but she chooses not to.
I personally don't feel much pity for those who personally set themselves up to be miserable. The only difference between her and those people is that she's getting paid to whine about it in magazines that will be read all over the world. And I'm sure she enjoys Hollywood and its perks all the same, as she continues to be a part of it.
xxS
OMG, she makes it saound like the fans are trying to kill her whenever she steps outside her house.
Love the comment about Prince William :)
Oh my god, the comments made me LOL'd. But it's so true! I still can't believe she has such a big fan base when all she does is fucking complain. Can't stand it when celebrities complain, she has money, fame, friends, a good UNI. What more does she want?! She needs to get a reality checked sooner or latter.
And now, according to the leaders of the Church of Emma Watson, she is going to sing with Of Mice and Men!!! Will her talents never end?? *gag, sputter, cough*
@ nina's first comment it sure does you can tell its emma not hermione
@first anon I try to be funny when i can. I'm sarcastic off the PC anyway.
@nina thanks and yeah it is and I'll use that photo for new memes but its fits for her in this case. What a "jackass."
@anon after nina coppala had one good movie in lost in translation about ten years ago. emma is just bullshitting when she talks about her.
@xxs I couldn't agree more with what you said. I've said things like that for the longest time. It will be a cold day in hell before I feel bad for someone who has a choice.
*anon after xxs its true isnt it. prince william has been in the spotlight since he was born but somehow managed it all. I mean he has way better security but you don't hear him whining.
@next anon a lot her fan base are naive twits (not all of them) to be perfectly honest. I like certain actors but I dont glorify them or find way to make stupid lame excuses for them. The reason I like them is for their work. I couldn't tell you their personal life or even middle name for example.
@last anon they havent even heared her sing like they havent even seen her performance in perks and its already oscar material. I guess emma will win a singing award now?
Typical ignorant and probably spooned fed their entire life comments from Emma loons
celebrities.ninemsn.com
"You know Emma Watson seems to be quite a well-rounded and rational person. This would be pretty annoying, to be restricted and the implications that come with being so famous. She's not even whinging, but well, you don't really expect high-quality journalism from CelebrityFix, do you?"
This next one is so typical, lol.
"To be honest, I'm pretty certain that the New York Times have twisted her words.
"If I went somewhere busy, I wouldn’t last very long. I can’t go to a museum, I’ll last 10 or 15 minutes in a museum," she sobbed.
She sobbed?! I'm not going to pretend that I know Emma Watson, but I've seen/read quite a lot of her interviews and I've been a fan of hers for quite a lot of years, and the very whim that she was sobbing in an interview is ridiculous to me. She's not like that. She posted on her Intagram account that she loved taking pictures with her fans, and here she is contradicting that. It doesn't add up."
"Yeah but what use is all that money if you can't do what you want to do. The young ones don't think about this as child actors. It becomes the Michael Jackson sydrome where you spend the rest of your life surrounded by 20 people and most of those are only there for the money and gifts."
"the author of this post just sounds super snarky and jealous. yes being an famous actress is great and everything, but it also has many pitfalls. she started acting when she was roughly 10 years old, do you think she saw all this happening?"
She was recently seen at an art expo: http://watsonuncensored.blogspot.be/2012/06/emma-watson-at-royal-academy-of-arts.html
and I remember that she was seen in a museum around her birthday too because there was an article about it how she wasn't partying like other celebs would do.
I forgot about that. Thanks. Like seriously why is she bitching?
that photo on edens blog is the only time ive ever seen her photographed in a museum. we joke at pottershots how emma goes ninja on us because theres no photo of her for weeks at time
i laughed at this
http://crushable.com/entertainment/emma-watson-fans-stalking-169/
I can’t go to a museum, I’ll last 10 or 15 minutes in a museum," she sobbed.
o please, everyone raze there hands right now who thinks emma was factually sobbing when she said this. (my hands are .. keyboarding me thinks, but not razed.)
um ... hold on a bit, i just factually checked the origins of the quote from the ny times article. there is no "she sobbed".
where does things likes this come from? do truths get distracted and alliterated on the net? and then get propagated like some naughty sine wave with a hidden ark tangent agenda.
pillar of salt my fiends.
Do you understand when soemone who is writing a article is poking fun at what someone says? That's what 'she sobbed" is and means. The person was being sarcastic and poking fun at emma whining comment.
"o please, everyone raze there hands right now who thinks emma was factually sobbing when she said this."
No one but you thinks the author was "factually" saying she was.
"do truths get distracted and alliterated on the net?"
This sentence is gibberish. Please pontificate using proper punctuation and post only after pondering the proper procedure. Otherwise the truth might get distracted.
"and then get propagated like some naughty sine wave with a hidden ark tangent agenda."
More gibberish. You might want to give your hypotenuse a rest. Your cosine is looking swollen.
"pillar of salt my fiends."
Stay thirsty my friends.
I wish Emma would say some more stupid shit. I'm bored, lol. So much for Gilbert's argument that everything she said was while she was promoting Hp, in women's magazines. As though now that HP is over she'll somehow magically start making sense and tell the truth, lol.
Honest question: is she REALLY that bombarded with fans, or is this a PR tactic to make her sound more relevant than she is? Same with having said that she was the one who got the ball rolling in regards to "Beast."
I'm still astounded at how much the original article of the T interview emphasized how grateful she was for Potter and whatnot. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Emma + her team told him to do that, as sometimes with interviews, people do ask the writers to emphasize certain things. I've been asked before.
However, there are times where a writer can emphasize too much where it looks like it was asked of him or her to do so, but there are times where it looks as though the author genuinely believed that. That interview was certainly not one of those [latter] times.
xxS
It was written that way so she could whine and lie about Brown, fame and the other things. It's a bit of psychology on the aloof reader and the easily manipulated. They knew exactly what thyere were doing. I think in a way it sets up her future statement about why she is not returning to college. Because she's "too famous" for it. I really dont see her returning. But we shall see.
Here echee her fans are posting tweets from tiff on POBW. Did see much praise for her, but there was some. Still no the real reviews though, so I will a wait the real ones when they come out. These are probably fans who tweeted these anyways, but who knows.

On the topis at hand. Who is she kinding? didn't she talk about it being funny that she could get on a public transit and nobody would recognize her. I think there are also so other times where she said not many people recognized her while walking done the street and stuff. Also that tweet about the guys she was talking to who did not know who she was, but thought that she was Emma Stone and Roberts.
That article really indicates the authors true opinion of Watson. He's showing that he has been asked to say certain things - if there were ever any doubt that Emma's PR want certain things mention, its gone now. He has done whatever her publicist has requested, yet has subverted it and managed to be snide and subtly insulting. Clever.
Xxs is quite right.
Compliment appearance to a bizarre degree. Check
Mention her studies. Check. Lie about her 'progess'. Check, check, check.
Exaggerate her abilities and 'clout' in the film industry
Call her grateful, followed by quotes of how clearly detached from reality she is and how far that silver spoon is lodged in.

"Did see much praise for her"
Ugg made a lot of errors in my post. Meant to say Didn't here.
In the second post I meant to say, Who is she kidding as well as down instead of done. I know you will not care or anyone else for that matter it just made me feel better to correct myself on some things I said.
The Internet don't like her much
http://pockets-of-rain.tumblr.com/post/30017361031/i-dont-understand-why-who-would-be-negative
Mishy, I make grammar errors all the time, lol. Don't feel so bad. I do have a large vocabulary, however, don't ask me to enter a spelling bee. My spell check sucks. I should take more time to check on that but I usually catch it later after I post. I re-read my posts after a day or so. Doh!
Alt, Maybe her PR team did force him to say certain things and he took offense so he wrote what he did or how that he did. My take is she has someone of these types of long interviews where people tend to puke a little. I mean people outside her fan base.
Last anon, How legit is that percentage? That was funny. I know her fans think she is loved by everyone but Ive read enough comments on other non potter praise sites where they cite the same annoyance with her as I do.
Btw I have Perks related post coming but the thing is there is so much new stuff at the moment I don't know where to start and what to put or to split it up, etc, etc. I have 2 drafts of a cluster fuck of quotes and things.
Did you guys read her one quote about being parinoid they were using her because of Potter? Hmm where did you here that one before, lol. Yes Emma they are and so is Bling Ring.

Did you guys read her one quote about being parinoid they were using her because of Potter? Hmm where did you heaR that one before, lol. Ive been saying since she got the part. Yes Emma they are and so is Bling Ring.
Did you guys catch Robert Pattison on the Daily show? The host was trying to get him to talk about Kristen. Rob made a nervous joke from being caught off guard 'I don't know where to go with this because actors usualy have interviews that are scripted.'
Emma twatson is is going to sing a song with the guyz from of monster and men. Poor thing does all she can to stay anonymous.
If she complains about being recognized so much then why did she tweet about a guy not recognizing her? For someone who claimed to be grateful, she seems pretty UNgrateful by the way her fans are treating her. She makes them sound like those crazy Bieber-fever fans. (Note: not all of them are crazy)
Last anon, if scripted interviews are true, then that explains A LOT. However I don't think that her last interview with David Letterman was scripted since he caught her off-guard with the drinking question. (Good for him.)
This isn't related to the blog post, but Emma retweeted something about being an ambassador for Camfed so I clicked it, thinking that she figured out "an even better way 2help : )" them. Nope, I was wrong. It's just some blog post worshipping her. When will this "kiss ass" thing end?
That site is actually funny I checked it out and Rupert Grint got 92% of positive and Daniel Radcliffe got a70% positive. Well I guess more people now what is actually like instead of trying to sell the amazingness that isn't there.
At the risk of being associated with the me thinks guy, I would like to add some thoughts about 'she sobbed' also.
I don't think everyone who comes here will know 'she sobbed' was just added in for dramatic effect by Rebecca Isaacs on Celebrity Fix. You changed the color and font, but some people may think 'she sobbed' came from the person doing the Times interview.
It makes Emma's quote sound infinitely worse. This is a case where we cannot see Emma's facial expressions or hear the tone of her voice. For all we know she could have been laughing a little when she said this.
What if it was presented like this? ...
"I can’t go to a museum, I’ll last 10 or 15 minutes in a museum" Emma says with a blithe expression on her face and ironic chuckle.
It changes it significantly and I think it is quite possible Emma giggled a bit when she said it. I doubt she was crying or even slightly emotional (but we will never know, only the Times reporter was there)
This is why I prefer video interviews. How someone says something is almost important as what they say.
I think you should put a disclaimer that 'she sobbed' was not part of the original interview. Otherwise, it borders on yellow journalism.
Also, I agree with xxS and Alt in their assessment of the author of the Times article. It was supposed to be scripted but they were given a little lattitude and they took it.
Odd choice of words sometimes though by that writer. "...her tiny little Meissen china head"?. Sounds like something the me thinks guy would say.
Echee:
"I really dont see her returning. But we shall see."
I don't think she will return physically. I think she will do whatever "independent study" she's done at Oxford and/or pay her credits (both of which are special attention). I wouldn't be surprised if this whole whining about "being too famous" is actually to later explain that she just "had to" do independent study because she was "too famous," therefore explaining why she can mysteriously graduate in Spring 2013, despite the fact that it's been publicly noted by media and her people that she terminated her schedule/took leaves of absence. This is a sympathy-drawing tactic to hopefully make people say "aww" instead of "but she wanted to be a normal college student when starting university and lied about her education for the past ~four years, wtf? Something shady is happening." Though to be honest, as her education was something she was lauded for by her fans/stans, I don't think they'll take to it kindly that she made such a mockery of university, especially if she graduates in Spring 2013 from an Ivy League school despite not having completed the required credits for an English undergraduate degree.
Alt:
"Xxs is quite right."
Haha thanks. I didn't notice too much mocking, but I definitely noticed the use of "grateful" over and over again despite the fact that there are several other words to use besides "grateful" about six times in an article. As a writer, I could see that as a joke that some will get. It's not uncommon for people to suggest things that another would like emphasized in his or her interview, but if someone comes across as conceited instead of grateful (and who knows what else she complained about during that interview) and the writer was asked by her publicist to make her sound grateful, I can see the overuse of that one word being a bit of a mock. He should have just done something like this, "The grateful Emma Watson so gratefully recalls her time as gratefully playing Hermione Granger, to whom she is most gratefully grateful for and for whom will always be gratefully grateful." That would have been humorous, but he would have probably been sued. I still don't get how she can say she's been at school all this time when having dropped out. I mean, there's making yourself sound good, but there's being a complete liar.
Echee:
"Did you guys read her one quote about being parinoid they were using her because of Potter? Hmm where did you heaR that one before, lol. Ive been saying since she got the part. Yes Emma they are and so is Bling Ring."
Haha to be honest, wouldn't it be obvious to her? I mean, they're even trying to sell it as Emma 'Hermione Granger' Watson's big debut as a film actress? She shouldn't be paranoid, though that could just be another sympathy-drawing tactic to make herself feel better. I'm pretty sure she knows why she's getting roles...she herself is one of her biggest image marketer.
xxS
@Gilbert you're being stupid again. Get drunk and then comments.
@nina I seen that camfed thing. It just shows you all you have to do is say you are for a cause and you are glorified for it.
I actually have a new post almost done. Its not Perks. I'm going to put that off for now. Its actually on the t-magazine interview. A whine from one her loons.
Gilbert:
The article that contains "sobbed" wasn't sourced from the T interview. Echee put it right before the quoted text. What is your point? Those who want to read the interview will read that. Watson was whining, so it's seems to be more for humor as to why Echee chose to use that source.
"This is why I prefer video interviews. How someone says something is almost important as what they say."
Those are scripted. Watson has been trained since 9/10 to be able to market herself as an image and after about 10 years of doing so, I'm sure she's got it relatively down. Interviews worth watching are those with unscripted jokes or questions, otherwise it's the same recycled blather as in magazine interviews or articles.
Nina:
That's a shame about the Camfed thing. If she had donated, I'm sure that Camfed would have made a scene about it because it'd help make others want to donate, even if they didn't care about the cause, just because Watson donated. It looks as though Watson more or less just attached her name to this rather than actually supports it. I wonder how people feel with having a privileged girl who makes a mockery of her education to be an ambassadress for an organization to bring education to underprivileged African women. And I guess she wasn't dropped then?
xxS
xxs: The article that contains "sobbed" wasn't sourced from the T interview. Echee put it right before the quoted text. What is your point?
When I first read Echee's post, I actually thought it was in the interview until the me thinks guy brought it up. I just briefly skimmed the damn T interview about a week ago and couldn't remember.
I agree with everyone else it was a terrible interview. Poorly written and Emma didn't say anything new or interesting or even intelligent.
They ask her stupid questions and she gives stupid answers.
xxs: Those are scripted.
Of course they are. So are the magazine interviews. The magazine interviews are even more scripted than say a video press conference.
I am just saying if Emma was laughing a bit when she said the museum thing, that would be different than if she was crying or really serious or emotional.
But you can't tell with just the words!
@Echee
I don't have to work tomorrow so I probably will get drunk tonight. Maybe I can come up with a decent comment.
Gilbert
@xxS: I wonder why Camfed hasn't dropped her if they realize that she's mocking the whole system, as you put it. Or maybe they don't realize it at all? When Emma tweeted the link (donations to Camfed), she was spotted shopping/hanging out with her friends and boyfriend on that same day.
I guess tweeting about it is sure to gain the attention of millions of people but I expected more from her since she claims to be really influential (i.e., Beauty and the Beast script and Perks)
Sorry to plug in Bonnie Wright, but she is a good example for being passionate abou a cause. She often tweets about these things, joins the causes (like Below The Line Diet) and has recently written a blog in Vogue's website about her recent visit with Oxfam.
If Emma has the time to be with friends, walk the dog, go to clubs and record a song, I'm sure she has the time to find other ways "2help : )"
(Sorry Echee, my comments aren't related to this post!)
Haha, I just noticed the bit about the exclaimation points. I wonder what happened to Exclaimation Stan?
